Installation Instructions – Single 6x9 LED Milwaukee Packout Kit

Follow these steps to install your 6x9 LED ring and spacer cleanly inside your Milwaukee Packout toolbox.

1. Position the Spacer

Place the 6x9 spacer on the inside of the lid exactly where you want your speaker to sit. Make sure it is centered and aligned before moving to the next step.

2. Trace the Opening

Using a marker or pencil, trace the inside of the spacer onto the Packout lid.
This gives you the exact cutout needed for the speaker opening.

3. Cut the Speaker Opening

Carefully cut out the traced area using your preferred tool (oscillating tool, rotary tool, or jigsaw).
Take your time and follow the line for the cleanest fit.

4. Mount the Spacer

After cutting, place the spacer back into position and secure it to the lid using screws or adhesive—whichever method you prefer.

Ensure the spacer sits flat and sealed all the way around.

5. Install the LED Ring (IMPORTANT)

Apply a fast-setting super glue (like the one linked below) to the bottom inside edge of the spacer.

Correct LED Position:

  • The LED must sit flush with the bottom of both the spacer and the Packout case.

  • Do NOT mount the LEDs at the top of the spacer.

  • If mounted too high, the speaker basket may hit the LED strip, causing fitment issues.

Press the LED in place with the diodes facing outward toward the cutout for an even glow.

Let the glue set for several minutes before moving on.

6. Install Your Speaker

Once the LED ring is secured and cured, place your 6x9 speaker into the spacer and mount it using your normal hardware.
Double-check wire clearance before final tightening.

7. Power Your LEDs

Connect the LED strip to your controller or 5V power source and test before closing the lid.
